How does pricing work?
We offer four packages; 20hours, 10 hours, 5 hours, and 1 hour. You are required to enter the hourly rate you would like to charge for each package. This is not the total price for the hours in the package but the per hour price. For instance, if you enter $20 in the 20 hours package box this means the total price of the package will be $400 ($20 x 20).
How much can I set my hourly price as?
This is up to you to decide but we recommend when you first sign up to keep your hourly price competitive/low in order to attract more students. Once you have enough students you can slowly start to increase your price.
If you are already a tutor/teacher you can eventually bring your price back to what you charge your students offline. Teaching through Kalvie is made easier for tutors so we encourage them to charge less than in person tutoring.
Make sure to always price fairly, it will pay off in the long run! Also, students can easily see how other tutors are priced. We have built Kalvie to encourage students and tutors to treat one another fairly. 🙂
