Students are free to choose any tutor they feel suits their needs best by reviewing tutor profiles and ratings. We will never interfere with this process.
The five most important factors effecting the number of students or sessions you receive, especially when you first join Kalvie, are:
Your position on the find tutor page - this is where all tutors are listed and where students search for tutors. The higher your position the better chance you have to get new students. To be listed higher make sure to have a high rating, never miss a session, never be late, and be very responsive to students messages.
Your pricing - keep your price low and competitive until you have enough students then gradually increase it.
Your introduction video - tutors with great videos have a 50% better chance of attracting students. To learn how to create an amazing video, click here.
Your rating - make sure to aim for a successful session every time. Your rating is the single most important factor in determining your position on the find tutor page. Ratings are very important! To learn how your rating is calculated, click here.
Your availability schedule - keep a large availability window at first giving yourself a better chance of attracting students. If you are only available a few hours a week then you have a smaller chance of attracting students, it's simple math! When you feel you have enough students, you can then narrow your availability schedule. To make changes to your schedule, click here.
Also, it doesn't hurt to have a big smile in your profile picture 🙂
